OSLO (Nettavisen): Next week, three men must appear in the Oslo District Court and answer for very serious charges.

According to police, the three defendants, aged between 20 and 30, abducted another man in his 20s in December 2018.

On December 11, starting at noon, according to the police, the victim was detained in an apartment in central Oslo for more than a day. On the night of December 12, he was released. During the nearly 26 hours he was in captivity, he is said to have been subjected to extensive rape and violence.

Police: beaten and kicked multiple times

The prosecution says:

In the apartment, NN (the victim, editor’s note) was sprayed with defense spray in his eyes, dominated, handcuffed and tied with strips and duct tape, after which he was subjected to violence and threats until his release.

Among other things, NN was beaten and kicked several times, including a blow to the head with one or more objects, he was injected with something said to be heroin (…).

Furthermore, NN was threatened several times with a knife to the neck and, among other things, they threatened to kill him and rape his fiancée. “

The rape is said to have taken place when the dildo was forcibly used in various ways against the man.

Valuables, a ring and a watch were also said to have been stolen from the victim. The maximum penalty for aggravated prison for which the accused are charged is ten years in prison. The most serious charge is aggravated rape with a maximum penalty of 21 years in prison.

Aggravating circumstances may be whether the violation was committed by multiple people jointly, whether it took place in a painful or offensive manner, and the extent of the damage.

– The case has been a burden for my client and has affected him a lot. He has given a full explanation to the police about what happened and will also do so in court, the man’s assistant attorney, Emilia Niemi of the Bratlien law firm, tells Nettavisen.

Requires great compensation

The victim of the case will demand reparation in the order of 3 to 400,000 kroons. What has become the “standard amount” as compensation in rape cases is NOK 150,000.

– In our cases, there is also talk that it is a violation committed jointly, it is aggravating. There is also talk of kidnappings and violence. We believe it is realistic to reach this amount, provided the defendants are ordered to pay compensation, says Niemi.

The man has been in psychological treatment after the abuse. The psychologist’s statement becomes part of the evidence in court.

The victim in the case has requested that his explanation be carried out without the defendants being in the courtroom. None of the defendants should have any objection to being seated in an adjoining room.

– My client wants to end the case and move on with his life. He wants to explain himself and put this behind him. It is unclear to what extent the case will continue after it has been explained. We hope the outcome in court is something you can live with, says the development assistance attorney.

The defendant denies all the charges.

Everyone involved in the case has known each other for a long time.

Two of the three defendants, both in their 20s, are also charged with storing 85 grams of cocaine in a basement shed at the same address where the abduction and abuse occurred.

The two men are also charged with possession of NOK 36,800, which the police believe originates from criminal activity, allegedly drug-related offenses.

– My client denies criminal guilt for rape, as outlined in the indictment. But he admits his guilt for kidnapping, violence and drug-related crimes, one of the defender’s men from the 1920s, Morten Furuholmen, tells Nettavisen.

The man in his 30s denies being guilty of all the charges.

Nettavisen has failed to obtain a comment from the defender of the other man in his 20s, lawyer Nils Christian Nordhus.

The state prosecutor Aud Kinsarvik Gravås also did not respond to our inquiries.
