Coronavirus, Tests | On this point, the Norwegians completely disagree with Høie.

Norwegians have no doubts about the mandatory tests.

This weekend, Nettavisen wrote about Nils Atle Torsvik, a Norwegian business leader who could not understand why foreign workers are not screened at the airport.

Now he receives the support of the Norwegian people.

A Norwegian krone monitor from Opinion asked in a very recent survey of 600 Norwegians if they think that the corona test should be mandatory for everyone coming to Norway from abroad.

Up to nine in ten Norwegians (93%) say yes to coronation tests should be mandatory.

– One unequivocal comment is that Norwegians want mandatory coronation tests for everyone coming to Norway from abroad. Testing is voluntary today, says senior advisor Nora Clausen in Opinion.

Increase

She says the poll is very recent and was done yesterday. This will be measured over several days to confirm the figures, but the trend is very clear.

An increasing number of people in Norway are infected abroad, mainly those born abroad who are infected in their own countries of origin, mainly Poland. Camilla Stoltenberg, director of FHI, said at today’s press conference that we do not have a sufficient overview of the import infection.

The leader of the Progress Party, Siv Jensen, thinks it is surprising that testing for covid-19 upon arrival in Norway is still voluntary.

– The intrusive measures that we have introduced, and of which we now receive more, have important consequences. They affect people, they affect jobs and they affect businesses. So I think it’s totally appropriate to have more control over this through a mandatory testing regimen, Siv Jensen told NTB on Tuesday.

On the same day, Health Minister Bent Høie (H) rejected FRP’s demand for mandatory testing.

Mandatory testing is not recommended as a measure and can lead to false security. It usually takes several days before an infected person has a detectable virus, usually five to six days. Therefore, people who test negative upon admission can still develop the disease. Therefore, a ten-day quarantine is mandatory, regardless of whether you get a negative test on arrival, Høie says.

It also says that mandatory testing upon entering Norway will likely require staffing at test stations to be multiplied tenfold.

– This will attract people from other important work with testing, testing and infection detection in known outbreaks, says Høie.

The article continues during the vote.

100 municipalities with import infection

In the last two months, 344 aircraft have been infected in Norway, many of which come from Poland.

Last week, FHI had to implement infection tracking related to 64 aircraft, several of which came from Poland, writes Aftenposten.

– The infection is mainly observed in relation to travel abroad, where a significant proportion has come from Poland, especially in the last two to three weeks, is stated in a recent report from the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH).

Very few were infected in the different planes, but the imported infection has caused outbreaks in many municipalities of the country. Last week, cases of infection were discovered in 50 different municipalities, all of which date back to flights from Poland. In total, the infection from Poland has thus been recorded in 100 municipalities.

– Every day planes land with a very high infection. In Gardermoen, seven planes from Poland land today, Oslo City Councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor Party) said when he announced new austerity measures in the capital on Monday.

Refuses

Several of Torsvik’s foreign employees have previously refused to take the test at the airport as long as it is voluntary, for several reasons:

– They feel that it is a bit uncomfortable to take the test, they misunderstand and do not understand that it is the quarantine in the photo if they do not do the test, and many believe that they have to pay a fee for a test, he tells Nettavisen.

You have now introduced a requirement for your workers that they must take the test, otherwise they risk losing their jobs.

The Ministry of Health and Care Services responded that Torsvik presented this as the responsibility of the state:

– The company director, Nils Atle Torsvik, as an employer, is responsible for the workers to be tested. If they don’t test themselves, they will be quarantined for 10 days. Torsvik presents this as if it is the responsibility of the individual employee, and that they can almost choose whether they should be quarantined, Health and Care Services Minister Bent Høie told Nettavisen this weekend.
