53 times in August, corona-infected passengers were discovered on planes, ferries, buses and trains in this country. Tests showed that few others were infected.

Aftenposten has obtained the figures from the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH). They include all national and international flights, ferries with more than one hour of travel, all regional trains and long-distance buses. Most of the cases, 45, were on airplanes.

300 people who sat near the infected were tracked and examined. 98 percent of them were completely healthy. 2 percent tested positive afterward. However, these may have been infected before the trip began, according to FHI.

Good ventilation

– On airplanes, it has particularly good air filters and good ventilation. The experience so far is that on board the planes there is not such a great risk of infection, says the director of the Line Vold department at FHI to Aftenposten.

– There doesn’t seem to be much infection on board the plane. The situation on airplanes is probably different on the subway or on the bus, he adds.

In an article, FHI writes the following: “In the experience of Norway and other countries, the risk of infection is considered low for other passengers.”

Seven of the planes were domestic, while three of the flights from abroad were from “yellow” countries at the time of entry. The remaining 13 came from countries that were “red” at the time or outside the EEA / Schengen area.

Just over a week ago, 32 flights were on the same list, according to VG.
