– Deterrent effect against new crimes

Cerme’s local authority chief named Suyono says he uses this as a deterrent punishment, for everyone to wear a mask in public. Therefore, he orders those who do not wear masks to bury the bodies in the public cemetery in Ngabetan village.

“Currently, there are only three people available to bury the dead, so I thought equally about putting these people to work with them,” Suyono says.

– Hopefully this can create a deterrent effect against new crimes, says Suyono.

He tells tribunnews.com that they are careful to ensure that those who bury the dead do not attend the funeral itself.
