Cancel the New Year’s celebration

The prime minister also urged the Danes to avoid a normal New Year’s Eve and cancel the deals that had been made to reduce the pressure of infection.

– Cancel deals on New Year’s Eve, Frederiksen said, according to Berlingske.

The newspaper writes that there was a heated debate on Tuesday over whether it made sense to hold a relatively normal New Year’s celebration or not. On Tuesday night, however, the answer is clear:

– In our eyes, it is not fair if the New Year’s celebration leads to a further spread of infections, said Frederiksen.

He also said that the festivities already agreed should be canceled.

– We shouldn’t risk everything for one night.
