UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson presented a new plan for local closures in the country this afternoon.
Local closure rules in the UK will depend in the future on whether areas are deemed to be in medium, high or very high danger, said Johnson, who announced the proposal when he spoke in Parliament Monday afternoon.
“The next few weeks and months will continue to be difficult in this country, but I have no doubt that together we will make it through,” Johnson said.
The proposal will be discussed in the National Assembly before it goes into effect.
A press conference on the new proposal will also be held tonight at 8pm Norwegian time. The press conference can be followed on top of this case.
– We are entering a new and decisive phase in the fight against coronavirus, says Johnson here.
Higher than March
According to Johnson, infection rates in the UK are now higher than in March.
On Sunday, 12,872 new cases of infection were reported in the UK, and 10,383 of these were in England.
The country’s authorities consider that the country is now at a critical point in the pandemic. The UK is now one of the countries in Europe with the highest infection pressure, and in the last week alone, 224,000 people have been diagnosed with the infection in the country.
In the last two weeks, the pressure of infection in the country has been 242 infected per 100,000 inhabitants, which leaves the United Kingdom in blood red on the Norwegian government travel map.

Curfew
With the three new levels of danger, a different approach emerges on how society should be shut down.
The city of Liverpool, where extensive restrictions have been introduced, is considered an area where the danger is considered very high, NTB writes.
The new tier will be presented there now on Wednesday, Johnson said when he presented the proposal to parliament.
The medium danger level will cover most of England, Johnson said. In areas where the danger is considered to be medium in size, which will apply to a large part of the country, there will be a curfew after 10 pm. In addition, no more than six people may meet.
– People are frustrated
The second highest level aims to prevent the spread of infection between households, which means a ban on people from different households from meeting indoors.
At the highest level of danger, people from different households will not be able to gather in private interiors and gardens. Bars and pubs will also close in these areas.
Finance Minister Rishi Sunak said at tonight’s press conference that the authorities have drawn up a comprehensive plan “to protect jobs and businesses.”
– I know that people are frustrated, says the minister of Finances.

– We will not return to another national “lockdown”, said the Prime Minister, adding that they have yet to introduce life-saving measures.
“We are on a narrow path between the social and economic costs of a total shutdown, on the one hand, and the enormous human and economic costs of a pandemic that is not being fought, on the other,” Johnson said.
