Almost 30,000 people have been admitted to the country’s hospital as a result of covid-19. This is the highest number of admissions since the start of the pandemic, writes The Guardian.
On Friday 40,902 new cases of infection were registered. This is the highest number ever recorded in Italy.

When the video was released on social media in Italy on Wednesday, the hospital released a statement confirming that the man had been found dead in the emergency room. He was allegedly suspected of being infected with corona, but the cause of death is still being investigated, writes the New York Times.
Rosario La Mónica, 30, who filmed and uploaded the video, wrote about her own experience of what happened at the hospital on her Facebook profile on Thursday.
– I sprayed some water on his head and asked for his help, but no one helped me. They didn’t arrive until half an hour later, and by then he was already dead, La Mónica wrote, according to the Ansa news agency.
