Writes Bergens Tidende.

In the last two days, 10 new cases of coronary heart disease have been registered in Bergen upper secondary schools, five of them in Åsane Upper Secondary School.

– The outbreak in a school will be large before it closes. We and the Office of Infection Control are working hard to keep schools running. So far so good. We have had cases of infection in schools where students have been quarantined and returned. The infection has not spread, says training and competition director Bjørn Lyngedal in the Vestland County Municipality.

One school has chosen to introduce start-up later for a third of the pupils, so that not all pupils have free time at the same time. Additionally, schools have the option of postponing the start of classes in the morning to avoid rush hour traffic on buses and trains.

Nine municipal elementary schools and one private school also reported corona infection since the schools started. Six schools still have students and staff in quarantine.

On Friday, the city of Oslo announced that a corona infection had been detected in 20 of the capital’s schools.
