(Chelsea 3-0 West Ham) After two defeats in a row, Chelsea needed a boost at home against West Ham London. As so often earlier this season, it was a corner kick that became the key.

It also seemed to be the only goal of the match for a long time, before Tammy Abraham scored a full score with two goals in two minutes just over ten minutes before the end.
Thus, it was a long-awaited victory for Chelsea, who now rank fifth in the table, six points behind league leaders Liverpool.
– I do not think that the losses influence so much in our confidence in ourselves. We know we are a good team, but we lost concentration in two games. Today we came back and hopefully we can continue, says Abraham in an interview that was shown on TV 2 after the game.

After losing the last two games, Chelsea needed a win to stay close in the Premier League. Chelsea are also not in the habit of losing three in a row in the Premier League, which has only happened once since the turn of the millennium, in the 2015/2016 season. At the time, the London team lost 9 of the first 16 matches in the Premier League, including a series of three consecutive defeats, which ended with José Mourinho having to resign as Chelsea manager.

Chelsea kept going, but throughout the round it was the away team that took over and the final 20 minutes West Ham created several good opportunities. Chelsea had the biggest chance, but a weak shot from Timo Werner and three correctly canceled goals ensured that the score was 1-0 at half-time.

Earlier on Monday, Burnley took a major win at the bottom of the Premier League table. After goals from Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood, Burnley took the lead 2-0, before Fabian Silva reduced from the penalty spot just before the end. It was with downsizing and therefore a 2-1 win for Burnely, meaning they move up from relegation spot to 16th.
