On Friday, Trump is said to have proposed to give a conspiracy theorist responsibility for the election fraud investigation and asked about the possibilities of declaring a state of emergency to oppose the election result.
At a meeting at the White House, President Donald Trump is said to have aired the idea of making attorney Sidney Powell a special adviser on the investigation of voter fraud in this year’s presidential election, US media report.
Powell has been part of Trump’s campaign team and, according to The New York Times, has faced conspiracy theories that Venezuela has planned to interfere by cheating on American voting machines.
The newspaper further writes that most of the president’s advisers, including lawyer Rudy Giuliani, opposed the idea. Sources at the meeting told CNN she was “heated.”
State of military emergency
Trump is also said to have raised the possibility of declaring a state of emergency in the country. Former national security adviser Michael Flynn has spoken out in favor of this on the conservative Newsmax television channel.
He said there that Trump could use the military to re-run the election.
– In auspicious states, you can use military capabilities to run elections again, Flynn said.
Michael Flynn was pardoned by President Trump earlier this year. He was accused of lying to the FBI and the vice president.
– Travelers hair
– It is creepy. There’s no other way to describe it. It is incomparable, says John Bolton in an interview with CNN. He was a national security adviser in the United States after Flynn.
He describes the alleged dispute as “another day in the White House office.”
– Some have a theory that Trump is getting worse as January 20 approaches. That’s not true: this is how Trump operates. There is a difference between incompetence and malice. This is incompetence, Bolton believes.
