LILLEHAMMER (VG) Carl I. Hagen (76) won the battle for first place on Opplands Frp’s parliamentary election list. He can take the unknown Lars Rem (54) with him to the Storting. Hagen says that this time he would also vote for Donald Trump.
The former FRP leader wants a comeback at the Storting and is betting equally well on two counties.
He was nominated for 1st place on Oppland FRP’s parliamentary election list, but was challenged by Wenche Haug Almestrand (53) from Lillehammer at the extraordinary annual meeting in Lillehammer on Sunday.

During the Sunday afternoon vote, Hagen received 16 votes and Almestrand 12.
Hagen also wants to be nominated on the Oslo Frp parliamentary election list, which will hold its nomination meeting on December 5.
– The nominating committee has not finished its recommendation, but Siv Jensen is likely to be nominated in 1st place, Christian Tybring-Gjedde in 2nd place and Carl I. Hagen in 3rd place, says leader Geir H. Ugland Jacobsen in Oslo Frp .
Today, Frp has two of the 19 seats that Oslo has in the Storting. This means that third place is an uncertain place.
He warns: – We have a VAT exemption so that electric cars are competitive, and we are not here yet
The FRP believes that Hagen’s decision to run in two counties could mean that the party will win three candidates in Oslo and one in Oppland, because Hagen is one of the most famous politicians and vote-hoarders in the country.
So Hagen must choose where he wants to be chosen.
– It is a choice that I do not want to take until the result of the election is available, he says.
May help unknown FRPs
If Oslo gets three representatives and Oppland one and he chooses to represent the municipality he lives in, Oslo, the unknown Lars Rem from Østre Toten can benefit from the fact that Hagen has attracted enough voters in Oppland to vote for Hagen:
He was chosen second at the nominations meeting on Sunday and moves to the Storting, if they get a representative from Oppland and Hagen chooses to represent Oslo, if they win three seats in the capital.

– If I can help Lars to enter the Storting because many people vote for me in Oppland, it will be a great joy. Lars is a good man, with whom I have been close, including in Lom, Sjåk, Vågå, Raufoss and Etnedal, says Hagen.
– But we must first see the outcome of the elections before that issue is relevant, says Hagen.
He says there are a few issues he will fight for if elected:
– Cut aid, much stricter immigration and integration policies, fight pension under-regulation, provide tax and tariff breaks for low-income people, use private companies in state-funded health and care services, and ensure that car taxes are used for investment in roads.
– I hope and believe that we with Carl in the first place can make a great choice in Oppland, says Rem.
Support Trump
He says that he is looking forward to launching the electoral campaign and; you are closely following another very exciting election campaign currently underway in the United States.
Trump is not very popular in Norway, but Carl I. Hagen has not turned his back on him.

– The choice is between two unclear candidates. Trump says a lot of strange things and is a bully, but in the choice between him and Biden, I choose Trump, because of his politics and the politics of the Republican Party, Hagen says.
– a bit realistic
General manager Thore Gaard Olaussen of VG’s voting agency Respons Analyze doesn’t have much faith that Hagen can be elected in both Oslo and Oppland.

– In Oppland, today they have a representative, so it is absolutely realistic that they can get it in the parliamentary elections next autumn. But even with the extra votes Hagen can get, because he is popular and well known, today it is unrealistic for Frp to win three seats in the capital. FRP has traditionally performed poorly in Oslo for many years, so they have to make a much better decision than usual to get three seats there, Olaussen says.
