If those who were tested at Lyngdal on Sunday do not receive a response during the week, they must take a new test.

The answers should have been ready by Tuesday.

So far, at least 75 people have been infected after an outbreak in Lyngdal in Agder. 42 of them live in Lyngdal. The rest are from neighboring municipalities.

The outbreak occurred during meetings organized by a Romanian congregation, which rented a room in Lyngdal.

About a hundred people participated. Two of them were infected with the virus.

Now one has been reported to the police for violating the rules on imposed isolation. The municipality is also considering notifying the congregation.

Outbreaks appeared in the Bethany congregation in Lyngdal.

Must cancel religious gatherings

Following the Lyngdal meetings, several cases of infection have been identified in the municipalities of Lindesnes, Farsund and Hægebostad.

Lindesnes has a great Romanian setting. They are linked to labor immigration.

– 29 of the 30 infected go back to the Lyngdal collections. In addition, we have around 500 in quarantine, says Mayor Even Tronstad Sagebakken (Labor).

The municipality of Lindesnes has now canceled a series of training, culture and parish life activities.

Other measures should also be considered.

– The infection situation will determine what we do, says the mayor.

In Lyngdal, all organized religious and training events have also been canceled. The cinema and Sørlandsbadet are also closed.

In Hægebostad, 120 people are in quarantine and the Kollemo school is closed.

Worried about the language barrier

Crisis management at Lyngdal is concerned about the language barrier that the infection detection team encounters in the environment where the outbreak occurred.

However, Mayor Sagebakken of Lindesnes does not believe the outbreak can be explained by a lack of knowledge about infection control.

– This can affect everyone, but right now it has affected this environment. They have been unlucky enough that someone got infected and then spread the infection further.
