Camp Moria, Right | Conservatives attack Labor for Moria:

The dispute over the Moria refugees continues in full force in the Storting. Because while the government will pick up 50 refugees, the Labor Party says it will accept more.

Conservatives are now heavily attacking their main opponent, who they believe is unclear on the case.

– Voters must find a fog clock if they want to understand what the Labor Party wants to do with Moria’s immigrants, Conservative Party immigration policy spokesman Ove Trellevik tells Nettavisen.

After the fire in the Greek refugee camp in Moria almost two weeks ago, Labor leader Jonas Gahr Støre has said that he does not want to lock himself in a series of refugees that Norway should accept, because this will be decided through negotiations with other countries.

But Støre has told VG that Norway can host about 150 refugees, at the same time that several Labor veterans in a letter to the party leader demand that the party enter to receive many more, and at least 500 children and families with children.

Furthermore, the Labor Party’s immigration policy spokesperson in last week’s NRK Debate said the party wants to accept up to 500 refugees with additional quotas, but that it should be the UN to assess how many of these will be taken from Moria. .

– The Labor Party proposed in the Storting that they would have 500 more refugees quota, who should be the ones most in need of protection. It is not certain that they
most in need of protection is in Greece. If this is the logic that the Labor Party must follow, it is not certain that the Labor Party will remove someone from Moria. However, the whole party seems to think that 50 is too low, says Trellevik.

The Conservative spokesman is now asking for a clearer answer from the Labor Party on how many refugees they want to collect from the refugee camp.

– Labor Party policy is actually a 0 to 500 solution. The party’s position becomes a wobbly haze of double communication that no one understands. What does the Labor Party really want to do with the immigrants in Moria? he asks.

– How can you criticize the Labor Party when you yourself only want to receive 50 refugees?

– The government’s refugee policy has been set and is predictable. We kept our promises and now accept 50 refugees. In total, we received 3,000 refugees out of a total of 1.4 million UN refugees. What we mean is the policy we follow. The problem is that the Labor Party does not surprisingly agree to criticize us, but does not have a credible solution per se. It spreads in all directions, says Trellevik.

– There are 13,000 refugees in the Moria camp, and then there are 50 very few. Would you consider accepting more than 50?

– No, unlike the Labor Party, we maintain our policy. We do not hesitate. In total, we have received almost 1,600 refugees from Greece. We are the country in Europe that has helped Greece the most, he says.

But the Labor Party’s immigration policy spokesman, Masud Gharahkhani, rejects criticism from Trellevik and the Conservatives.

– It is touching that Trellevik is so interested in what we want to say in the Labor Party, all the time it is his own party that is in government. If you need more advice for your own policymaking, you can read the Labor Party program to be launched shortly, he tells Nettavisen, noting:

– Norway is interested in working to find solutions in which we contribute together, while maintaining control of the borders in Europe.

The APS immigration policy spokesperson says they only follow their adopted policy:

– As I also said last week, when he tried this, Trellevik obviously has a hard time. Our proposal is the same now as when we proposed it at the Storting in April. In accordance with our adopted policy, we proposed to increase the quota by 500, and that we, together with the UN, should consider what proportion of these should be obtained from vulnerable asylum seekers in Greece, says Gharahkhani.

– Erna Solberg has abdicated

The Labor politician notes that the UN asked Norway as early as April to help Greece and Moria and to help remove those in need of protection.

He believes that it is rather the government, led by the prime minister, that is failing.

– Erna Solberg and Kjell Ingolf Ropstad have abdicated and left immigration policy to the right-wing populists in Frp, who do not want us to accept anyone. Ropstad has been completely invisible in this case, obviously in hiding because he knows that KrF has suffered a crushing defeat on one of its central issues internally, he says, and claims that it is the government that is leaning on immigration policy.

– Chaos is the word that best describes bourgeois immigration policy. KrF and Venstre call for more liberalization, Frp calls for more tightening, and conservatives say one day with Trellevik at the helm they will cut the refugee quota, and the other day Erna Solberg guarantees as many as today, says Gharahkhani, adding:

– The only thing they agree on is that they abdicate responsibility and try to blame the Labor Party. Those who pay the highest price for this are people who live in insecurity and do not receive help.

On Thursday last week, NRK presenter Fredrik Solvang Ap’s immigration policy spokesperson on NRK debated the debate over Moria’s situation, claiming it was vague and had double communication.

– It is not just me who has trouble understanding what the Labor Party means. Several of your fellow party members have asked you to make it very clear that you want to get 500 from Moria, is that what you want? Solvang asked, adding:

– Nobody understands what that means!

On Friday, however, Gharahkhani responded to Solvang, saying that he disagreed that he was lazy or had double communication.

Støre: – Won’t lock us up in a number

In relation to the Labor Party national board meeting last week, Labor leader Jonas Gahr Støre said it was pointless to give figures on the number of refugees Norway should receive from Moria.

– We will show joint responsibility and accept our share of those in need of protection, but we do not set figures. It doesn’t make sense now, we will be part of the charity event, Støre told Nettavisen, adding:

– We don’t want to lock ourselves in a number. It depends on how the conversations go with the others in Europe.

The online newspaper has contacted Støre’s adviser for comment on the case, but it was forwarded to Gharahkhani, who commented on the case.
