Several appeared in black bandages bearing the names of African-American citizens who were murdered in the United States when Breonna Taylor’s family held a press conference on Friday afternoon Norwegian time.
There have been several protests in the city of Louisville, Kentucky, after a court ruled that no police officer is charged with the murder of Breonna Taylor (26).
The message from the family was clear: – Publish the transcripts!
“We are here today to demand that the transcripts of the grand jury proceedings be released,” said development assistance attorney Ben Crump.
– I am an angry black woman
Tamika Palmer’s sister, Bianca Austin, read a message her mother had written while wearing Breonna Taylor’s jacket.
In the message, the mother says, among other things, that she never believed Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who brought the indictment Wednesday.

“He had the power to do the right thing and begin to heal the city, but now I have realized that we will always be against them,” Austin said on behalf of his mother.
The mother says this confirms why she does not believe in the judicial system, the police and the law.
– People probably think I’m an angry black woman. And I’m an angry black woman, but not for the reasons you think. I am angry that our black women continue to die at the hands of the police.
After the indictment was announced, Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer, posted a photo of her daughter on Instagram with a subject tag that read “the system failed Breonna.”
– Free the transcripts!
Daniel Cameron is the prosecutor in the Breonna Taylor case and defends the indictment he read on Wednesday of this week.
The family responds that they did not mention Breonna Taylor’s name once.
Cameron also received a lot of criticism during the press conference.

“The whole family is devastated, furious and confused, just like the rest of us, when it comes to what Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron presented to the jury,” Crump said.
During the press conference, both the family and the civil rights attorney said that Cameron has shown that he is unwilling to fight on Taylor’s behalf.
He received millions of compensation
Earlier this year, Mayor Greg Fisher confirmed that the City of Louisville will pay $ 12 million in compensation to Tamika Palmer.
Fischer also said the city will carry out police reform in the wake of the 25-year-old’s murder.
The family sued the police after the murder.
Accused of gross negligence
Former police officer Brett Hankison has been charged with serious bodily injury following the murder of Breonna Taylor (26).
Many expected a more stringent prosecution, and two of the three police officers escaped prosecution entirely.
A grand jury in Kentucky announced the indictment on Wednesday night Norwegian time.
The charge applies to the shots that Hankinson fired at various apartments in the neighborhood that night, but not directly at Breonna Taylor or her apartment.
I shoot eight times
Taylor was shot at least eight times by police during a drug bust on his Louisville apartment on March 13. No drugs were found.
Her roommate, Kevin Walker, was also in the apartment that night. Walker has admitted to taking only one shot because he thought it was robbery.
