Incoming US President Joe Biden will maintain the tariff barriers that Donald Trump introduced after going to the trade war with China for the time being.

Relations between the United States and China have deteriorated in recent years, and Trump has imposed higher tariffs on Chinese goods worth billions of dollars.
Biden, for his part, has criticized China for human rights violations.
“I will not take any immediate action, and that also applies to rates,” Biden told the New York Times on Wednesday. Until further notice, he will analyze the situation.
Biden has indicated that in trade policy he will try to repair US relations with Europe and various East Asian countries. At the same time, he has stated that the United States must join forces with other democracies on a common front in global trade policy as a counterweight to China.
Biden pointed to Chinese President Xi Jinping in a February debate regarding the Democratic nomination pick.
