Threat to national security
Andrew McCabe has long been the subject of the ire of President Donald Trump. About two years ago, McCabe started an investigation. He was accused of lying saying that he had approved an employee leaking inside information to a newspaper.
The US attorney’s office dropped the case in February, but Republicans in the Senate do not appear to have finished with McCabe.

McCabe said in his opening statement that he was shocked and disappointed by the mistakes made in connection with the wiretapping.
