Paul McCartney’s handwritten text for the Beatles song “Hey Jude” sold at auction on Good Friday, for more than five times the expected price.
Julien’s Auctions reports this to Reuters news agency.
They say the lyrics were quickly written by Paul McCartney before the song was recorded at Trident Studios in London in 1968.

In advance, the expected price was set between $ 160,000 and $ 180,000, while the winning bid was for a total of $ 910,000, more than NOK 9.4 million.
– Obviously it’s a very iconic song that everyone knows. These handwritten lyrics were used in the studio as a guide during the recording of the song, says Jason Watkins, the action house music specialist.
