The Road Traffic Center warns of bad weather in Nordland and encourages you to leave the car. There are also difficult driving conditions in Troms and Finnmark.

The northern traffic center came out with the warning on twitter night on the second Sunday of Easter.

– It is very bad weather in Nordland. Several roads are closed and the ferry connections are canceled. We recommend everyone to leave the car until the weather has calmed down, they write.

This call is also behind the police in the region.

Among other things, Saltfjellet, Sjonfjellet and Beiarfjellet are closed due to bad weather, while there is a driving column on Kråkmofjellet.

The Nordlandsbanen is also closed from Dunderland to Lønsdal.

Avalanche risk

The Meteorological Institute also warns. They have sent warnings about the significant snow avalanche danger to Troms and Finnmark, in addition to Ofoten and northern Salten in Nordland. The forecast lasts until Monday night, when the wind is expected to decrease.

The storm also extends further south, where the Road Traffic Center in central Norway reports that both Steinfjellet and Dovrefjell are closed as a result of the weather.

Meteorologists urge people to watch out for the strong wind on Twitter:

Mountain crossings also closed in southern Norway

On Monday morning there is only one mountain junction where you can drive freely between eastern Norway and western Norway. Strong winds create traffic problems.

There is free passage at E16 over Filefjell. In E134 on Haukelifjell there is column driving, and in Rv7 on Hardangervidda there is column driving for heavy vehicles only, writes the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

E6 on Dovrefjell, Rv13 on Vikafjellet, Rv15 on Strynefjellet and Fv51 on Valdresflye are completely closed, and the last three do not open on Monday.

– It is the wind and the snowflake that create problems, and in some places it also snows, traffic operator Mette Brunes tells NTB.
