(Arsenal-Liverpool 1-1, 5-4 on penalties) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (31) scored on Arsenal’s final penalty and became a Community Shield hero. But he will not reveal whether he signs a new contract.
Previously, Aubameyang had also scored in the match. He has five goals in his last three Wembley appearances (FA Cup semi-final, FA Cup final and Community Shield). Six goals if you include the one that came in the penalty shootout.
Later, however, he did not reveal whether he will sign a new contract with Arsenal:
– We’ll see. Today we take the trophy. We are improving. It’s still a job to do, but it’s fun being an Arsenal player now, Aubameyang told BT Sport.
The only barrier on the penalty shoot-out came from Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster (20). The other nine penalties went to the net.
