Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta (38) is impressed with the development of Norwegian talent.
– When you see more talents of this type emerging, it is not a coincidence. Things have been done very well. I have been told that there have been big changes in the academies, in the national teams, in the facilities and among the coaches. You can see that the league is also much better now, and that the quality of the players has improved, so I have to congratulate him, Arteta tells VG.
He answers questions about his impression of the Norwegian generation that have made their entry into European football recently, with players like Erling Braut Haaland, Martin Ødegaard, Sander Berge (who has been on the block for Arsenal) and George Lewis (who plays for the Arsenal Academy).
– Are there individual players that you like more than others?
– I can’t name individual players, but you mentioned someone there, says Arteta and laughs.

Arsenal’s 21-year-old midfielder Joe Willock has also seen it sprout and grow in Norwegian football.
– It is fantastic to see that so many young talents come from a country that is not so big. They really express themselves. I see them shine in the Champions League. It’s very exciting, Willock tells VG.
Arsenal will host Molde at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night at 9pm. The game will be broadcast on TV 2 Zebra.
Arteta evaluates the Moldanos as follows:
– The strengths are that they work very well as a team. They are very strong physically. They are very well organized on the defensive. They have some creative players who are dangerous in the last third and are a real threat on dead balls. We have both won our two matches so this will probably be the most difficult match yet.
– We have seen some clips and we have evaluated them. They are a very good team. We both have six points, but we want to make our mark on this group, says Willock.
