A man from Como, in northern Italy, has now been dubbed Forrest Gump in the Italian media, after walking 450 km after an argument with his wife, reports BBC News.

In the Oscar-winning film “Forrest Gump” (1994), Tom Hanks’ character of the same name tours the United States.

To turn off

The Lombardy region, where Como is located, is currently under strict measures from the crown, and the Italian press is putting up the internal dispute regarding the shutdown.

After the heated exchange of views, the man only came out to cool off a bit, but was found in Fano, on the Adriatic coast, a week later, in the middle of the night.

The long-distance traveler was fined 400 euros, just over 4,000 crowns, for violating the current curfew.

– I came here on foot and did not use any means of transport. On the way, I ran into people who offered me food and drink, the man explained to police, who found him walking seemingly without purpose or meaning on a main street.

Collected

The Como man further stated that his condition was good, but that he was a bit tired after walking an average of 60 kilometers a day.

It finally emerged that his wife had reported him missing. He traveled to Fano to pick it up.

On social media, walking is a hot topic. Some think the man has committed a heroic feat and criticize the fine, others praise him for coming out to calm down.
