– We will report on the worst that devastated the most and that we seek to destroy. For those of us who own a shop, this is not a good thing, says Morten Finstad, CEO of Bohus.
He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Avenyen trade association in Sørlandsparken in Kristiansand.
On Holy Thursday, between 150 and 200 cars gathered in the parking lot of the place for a robbery.
Fædrelandsvennen mentioned the case first.
According to the chairman of the board, the result of the theft is damage worth tens of thousands of crowns.
– They went “completely crazy” and drove on broken tires to make sparks and marks, says Finstad, who chose to go to Sørlandsparken when the hit “took off” in the 1920s.
Then, according to him, two and two cars went round and round while many spectators were nearby.
He chose to call the police who put an end to it.
Subsequently, the chief of police operations stated the following to Fædrelandsvennen:
– It was pretty hectic when we went out. We have ordered them to leave Sørlandsparken.
The asphalt had ugly marks and there was a lot of trash left.
– The caretaker collected four shopping carts with trash the next day. We also had to sweep the entire area, says Finstad.
Farm owner: – It’s vandalism.
NRK has failed to seize investor Kurt Mosvold, who is the largest agricultural owner in the area. He tells VG the following about the review:
– We understand that young people want to have fun, but this cannot be allowed at all. It is vandalism and it is dangerous. It is sure to lead to revisions.
He informs the newspaper that they will now review the surveillance camera videos to find out who and how many they will report.
Morten Finstad from the trade association thinks it is a shame that too few destroy too many.
– There are between five and ten pieces that do things that we cannot live with. The rest are there for fun and socializing, he says.
Finstad says they recently provided video surveillance of the area.
A major reason for the investment is problems with thieves visiting the parking lot every weekend.
– The surveillance camera gives us the opportunity to pursue the worst.
Thief: – A “completely normal” hit.
NRK spoke with a representative of the Råner Sørlandet organization.
She was there to meet friends and grill herself, but says they weren’t the ones who organized the gathering.
– We chose to throw hits on Holy Thursday of this year. I think it was an individual who took the initiative, says the representative who wishes to remain anonymous.
She describes the robbery as “completely normal”.
– It was quieter than the previous meeting that came in the media. Those who drive and gossip are in full control.
What do you think of farm owners who now want to report on more participants?
– I laugh a little at all this because we know that the police will probably close the case due to lack of capacity.
What do you think of the damage to the tens of thousands caused by thieves?
– I don’t understand where those amounts come from. There was no damage to the streetlights or curbs.
The thieves have been given a place to hang at the YX station in Lillesand. According to her, the problem is that they can only conduct up to five annual meetings.
– We are allowed to stay there at night, but only to hang out. We are not allowed to gossip unless it is successful, she says.
NRK has been in contact with the Agder Police District. They don’t want to comment on the matter until the weekend.
