In his first interview after his wife’s disappearance, Tom Hagen confirmed to NRK that his marriage to Anne-Elisabeth has had its ups and downs. However, he denies that the divorce was imminent or that the money was important to him.
– I don’t know why the police are so concerned about this. It must be that a painting is built where something like this occurs to me, because I was afraid of having to give him something. But I never have been. Wealth and money are not that important to me, and status does not concern me much. So there are no such motives behind it, Hagen says in the interview.
However, this is precisely one of the reasons for the strong suspicion of the police. According to information from Dagbladet, they believe that the billionaire questioned has described the marriage as better than they themselves believe to be reality.
Tom Hagen himself is said to have explained, among other things, that there was no discussion about the separation. Anne-Elisabeth Hagen’s development assistance attorney Gard Lier, for his part, does not wish to comment on the information. However, he confirms the information that personal notes have been found with the couple, without wanting to delve into what it is or what it contains.
Attorney Ståle Kihle, who is an assistant attorney for the Hagen couple’s three children, has not responded to Dagbladet’s inquiry about the information.
