An insult – VG

On Monday night, US President Donald Trump held his first indoor rally in nearly three months.

The voter rally in Henderson, Nevada, was held inside a department store, in violation of state infection control rules that prohibit gatherings of more than 50 people.

The public meeting also broke with the recommendations of US health authorities, writes the AP news agency, and many did not wear masks either.

– We will not close the country again. A shutdown will ruin the lives and dreams of millions of Americans, Trump said from the podium, promising voters that the United States will fight the corona virus, which he described as the “China virus.”

Before Trump took the stage, Nevada Democratic Governor Steve Sisolak wrote several critical messages on Twitter about the president’s election rally.

“At a time when Nevada is focusing on getting our economy back on track and protecting public health, the president’s actions this week are shameful, dangerous, and irresponsible,” Nevada Democratic Governor Steve Sisolak wrote on Twitter shortly before he Trump will take the floor.

“This is an insult to everyone in Nevada who has followed the guidelines, sacrificed and put their neighbors ahead of themselves,” he wrote in another statement.

The governor, who reached out to Trump in several Twitter messages, also thanked local authorities in Henderson, who he says have done everything they can to comply with state restrictions on the crown during Trump’s rally.

The president himself comments on the matter as follows to the voters from the rostrum, with great cheers from the hall:

– If the governor comes for you after this wonderful night, which he shouldn’t do, I’ll be with you all the way.

After several outdoor voter rallies in various airport hangars in recent weeks, this was the president’s first indoor rally since the controversial rally he held in Tulsa, Oklahoma in June.
