Ruter reports that the number of passengers on the Oslo metro is now up to 90 percent of last year’s level. In these crown times, the advice is still to avoid rush hour.

According to VG, Ruter claims that the use of public transport in some parts of the city, especially in the southern part of the city, is quite on par with the same period last year.

According to press officer Sofie Bruun in Ruter, there have been very few outings in the last four weeks where capacity has been exceeded.

– In general, we have some challenge lines, and especially during peak hours. It probably dates back to the opening of the school as the students are back in town, he says.

In Oslo and Viken, the number of passengers was 4.2 million last week, which is 73 percent of a normal week.

On August 17, the authorities introduced a recommendation to wear face masks on buses and trains in Oslo and Indre Østfold if it is impossible to keep one meter away from other passengers. This no longer applies at Indre Østfold, but for Oslo the recommendation has been extended until September 6, and can be extended.
