All-time after 8.44 minutes of chaos – VG

Haaland’s 20 Champions League goals, mostly from Norway, came after wild chaos. The referee had barely given the go-ahead to start the second half, before it was difficult to catch up with everything that happened on the court.

“Honestly, I’m not sure how to describe what happened, but we are 2-0,” Borussia Dortmund tweeted after 58 minutes of play.

We tried to sum up the hectic minutes:

• 46.25 – Erling Braut Haaland goes to the ground in the 16 meters of Sevilla. The game shakes up the winners without major protests. However, we will return to it.

• 47.26 – Haaland fights beyond Sevilla’s defense and finds his way to goal. Celebrate after putting the 2-0. He thinks so.

• 49.25 – Judge Cüneyt Çakir disallows the goal. He thinks Haaland is giving Sevilla’s Fernando a push in the back. However, VAR rewinds the recording even further. It shows that Sevilla’s stopper Jules Koundé illegally stops the Norwegian. Penalties to Haaland.

• 51.48 – Haaland puts the penalty to the left of the goalkeeper. But Yassine Bono joins in and saves the attempt. Keeper celebrates.

• 52.09 – VAR returns to report to Judge Cakir. A new penalty is awarded: Bono was a few inches off the line when Haaland finished.

• 53.36 – Haaland establishes an almost identical penalty, but this time Bono fails to defend himself. The Norwegian celebrates 2-0. And he gives the Sevilla goalkeeper a little taste of his own medicine.

– I got lost. He cheated. Then I had another try. Then I scored when he didn’t cheat. It was the exact same thing, but then it was on the line, Haaland says in an interview that was shown on TV 2 after the game.

• 55.08 – The Norwegian receives a yellow card from the referee. He thinks Haaland has provoked his celebration.
