Navalny became seriously ill on a Siberian plane in late August. August, after drinking a cup of tea at the airport before departure. The plane made an emergency landing in the city of Omsk, where he was hospitalized. Later he was flown to Berlin.
It is not clear if he will suffer permanent injuries.
Doctors at the Charité hospital in Berlin say his condition had become so good that they could bring him out of a coma. They stress that it is too early to tell whether he has suffered permanent injuries.
Navalny has been for many years one of the most prominent critics of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
German specialists have previously said that there is no doubt that the Russian opposition politician was poisoned. According to the German authorities, he was poisoned with the neurotoxin Novitsjok.
Last week, the German government said there was “unequivocal evidence” that Navalny was poisoned by the Novitsjok neurotoxin. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the Putin critic was subjected to an assassination attempt and the goal was to silence him.
The Russian authorities categorically deny that they had anything to do with the poisoning. Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Russia wants to cooperate with Germany in the investigation of the case.
