The Norwegian started Saturday’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt, but after a goalless game, the forward was replaced by Danish Youssef Paulsen.

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT – RB LEIPZIG 1-1:

The 24-year-old won the trust of RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann early on, but after being quite invisible during the first half, the forward was taken off the field.

– Great things are expected from Sørloth, he exchanged goals in Turkey last season, but the difference is huge, Viasport commentator Roar Stokke said of the forward.

For the visiting team, it was mainly the Spanish Dani Olom and Angelino who were responsible for the great occasions in the first half, but the guests could not find the masks from the net.

However, the home team did. Just before the break, Aymen Barkok could overtake the hosts. The Moroccan punished the boring defensive play of RB Leipzig goalkeeper Dayot Upamecano, slipped in front of Angelino and tricked Peter Gulasci.

Poulsen replaced

Perhaps it was RB Leipzig who created the biggest chances before the break, but it was not undeserved for the hosts to get ahead either, they had been on par with Leipzig.

When the teams took to the field for the second half, it was without Sørloth at the top of the visiting team. Star forward Youssef Poulsen was replaced by Trøndelag.

It should turn out to be a smart move by Coach Nagelsmann. After just over ten minutes on the pitch, the Dane took the lead and secured the equalizer in Frankfurt.

Active Angelino hit the ball down the left side and hit a perfect post in front of the goal. Poulsen was in place and put the ball into the goal from about twenty feet away.

An absolutely brilliant shot from the RB Leipzig forward.

Both teams could decide

Eintracht Frankfurt came close to increasing their lead when Andre Silva fired a low shot from the right in the 78th minute, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmless into the side net.

The guests also had the opportunity to decide towards the end. Emil Forsberg hit a corner against the longer post and it was no surprise that Poulsen was in his place. He caught the ball and got a good shot. Goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, however, made a good save.

However, there were no more goals, which means that RB Leipzig is now number three in the Bundesliga with 17 points from eight games. Frankfurt is number 11.
