Two people were killed in a meeting accident Tuesday night. Three people remain hospitalized.
Just before 8pm on Wednesday night, police were notified of a serious accident on the E6 in Kvenvik, about a mile outside Alta.
– In one car there was an adult woman in her 40s who was the driver, and in the same car there were two underage girls. It was quickly established that the woman had died. Both girls were injured and one was pronounced dead on the spot after a heart / lung rescue attempt was made, Sheriff Øyvind Lorentzen reports.
The other girl was airlifted to UNN by ambulance.
– The girl is of primary school age and is still described as seriously injured, said Jørn Resvoll, a communications consultant at Northern Norway University Hospital on Thursday morning.
Family members of all those involved have been notified, Finnmark police report to VG.

Lorentzen in the police claims that there were two young men in the other car.
They are in their early twenties with moderate injuries. They are also admitted to UNN.
– The police have given the case a high priority and are working on tactical interrogations and forensic investigations. The Transportation Accident Commission also participates.
– It is too early to say anything about the cause of the accident, but further technical and tactical investigation may tell something about it.
Police further claim that they will hold a press conference later on Thursday.
