Last night at 9.50 pm, the Eastern Police District received a message from a woman who had seen three people enter the cordoned off avalanche area and remained there for several hours. When he saw the men leaving the area, he alerted the police, who sent patrols to the area.
– The three men were found at a residential address. They confirmed they had been to the area of the landslide, but no stolen goods were found last night, says operations manager Terje Skaftnes.
However, the next day, the police found what they consider to be stolen property on a piece of land south of the landslide area. Here were televisions, kitchen appliances, and other items. On this basis, the police decided to arrest the three Lithuanians in their 20s, 30s and 50s.
