The Labor Party and the Socialist People’s Party secure a majority for an economic boost for mental health during the crown. FRP joins, but they cannot agree on how to reduce ferry prices.
The tug of war on the latest crisis package is scheduled to end on Friday.
Lower ferry prices and large investments in mental health are among the hot topics.
Frps recently launched a ferry proposal that would halve ferry prices for county and national road connections in Norway immediately in the next crisis package, but this received a lukewarm reception from the Labor Party and the People’s Party. Socialist.
FRP will also have free ferries for everyone, which will cost NOK 3 billion a year.
The Labor Party, the Socialist People’s Party and the Green Party together have a majority in the Storting and all support a sharp reduction in ferry prices, but do not agree on how they want to do it.
Now the FRP puts its old proposal in the drawer and releases a new one:
- “The Storting calls on the government to return to the revised national budget with a binding plan to reduce the prices of ferries, both on national and county roads.”
– We have registered that neither the Labor Party nor the Socialist People’s Party will support our proposal to lower the prices of ferries, a proposal that could have an immediate effect. We think the APS proposal is too weak, says Hans Andreas Limi from FRP to VG.
He says they hope to get a majority for the new proposal, along with the Labor Party and the Socialist People’s Party.
The parties are working this afternoon and tonight with the crisis package in the finance committee.
– Does this mean that the previous proposal is dead?
– We keep the proposal, but we managed to read the signs. No one has so far signaled that they will support him. That is why we are promoting an alternative proposal.
The sea: Aps solution, Sps solution
The Labor Party and the Socialist People’s Party receive support to lift psychiatry
Limi also says they want to be part of a push for psychiatry:
On the table of the finance committee is a proposal from the Labor Party, the Socialist People’s Party and the parties of the left, to provide NOK 400 million in additional grants for mental health in the new crisis package for the Norwegian economy.
– We are sure to give a boost to mental health. We will carefully review the proposal of the left-wing parties, Limi tells VG.
– Fighting alone at home
He says they are concerned with providing funds for measures that will have a quick effect to help those who are mentally suffering as a result of the crown closure.
– We will give priority to measures that have short-term effect. We haven’t decided what level we want to get to, he says.
Limi has noticed that many people struggle with loneliness in the crown.
– There are many who have sat alone at home in small apartments for many months, in the home office or as laid off. Endel struggles to cope with time.
To clear up on Friday
Under the plan, the Finance Committee will present its recommendation on Friday.
The largest allocations in the mental health package now proposed by the red greens will go to:
* Low-threshold services and rapid mental health care in the municipalities.
* Increased staffing in the school health service.
* Strengthening mental health care, including child and adolescent psychiatry.
* Extended offer on helplines.
Joy in the Labor Party and the Socialist People’s Party
Labor leader Jonas Gahr Støre appears to have a breakthrough. To NTB, on Thursday, he asked the Progress Party and the government parties to support the psychiatric initiative, so that he obtains the majority.
– Reports of increased stress, especially in young people with mental health problems as a result of the crown, are deeply disturbing, Støre said.
SV health policy spokesperson Nicholas Wilkinson hopes and believes.
– I am very happy that we can finally get a mental health crisis package. SV proposed it in their alternative state budget for 2021. We were almost completely alone. Now I hope that all parties will vote in favor of this.
