On Saturday, the government will present new measures for the 25 eastern municipalities that have been partially closed. Here are the recommendations of the health authorities.
After the British mutation coronavirus outbreak was discovered in Nordre Follo last week, the government introduced strict measures for 25 municipalities in eastern Norway.
The measures are the most stringent introduced since March 12 last year and the aim has been to stop the spread of the British variant of the virus.
In new recommendations released Saturday morning, the Norwegian Health Directorate recommends an extension of the measures for a week, but with some relief in the Oslo region.
The Norwegian Health Directorate stresses that “downsizing in a confusing situation should be done gradually and according to priorities.” The Directorate proposes to facilitate the measures in some municipalities, giving special priority to children and young people.
These are the management recommendations for the “Ring 1” municipalities:
- Stores may reopen, but it is not recommended to reopen shopping centers.
- Restaurants, like shops, can be reopened, but changes to the bar stop are not recommended.
- Libraries can be reopened.
- Sports and leisure activities for children and young people can be resumed
- Swimming lessons can be resumed for youth under 20 years of age.
These are the recommendations of the management for the municipalities of “Ring 2”:
- The gyms must be able to remain open for the training of the residents of the municipality, but closed to visitors from other municipalities.
- The Directorate emphasizes that swimming pools and the like may be open for organized activities for children and young people under 20 years of age.
It is up to the government to decide what measures are to be introduced, continued and made more flexible. On Saturday at 10:00 am, the government will present new measures for municipalities in eastern Norway.
Before the new measures, the Norwegian Health Directorate and the National Institute of Public Health made professional recommendations to the government.

Relief Reports for Children and Youth

The recommendation that private visits should not be made is also softened. This new period of measures will last from Wednesday until February 10, writes Dagens næringsliv.
VG receives confirmation that there will be relief for the municipalities of “ring 1” and “ring 2”. The Bald Ring 2 municipalities will once again be part of the national travel councils and therefore the stricter travel councils for municipalities will be abolished.
In addition, VG receives confirmation that the red level for schools in “ring 1” municipalities will be abolished, but that there will be opportunities to assess this locally. It will also be open for leisure activities for children and young people, VG reports.
