The English virus mutation was first detected in residents of a nursing home in a nursing home in Nordre Follo, with a possible spread to a kindergarten.

On Friday, January 22, 17 new positive cases with the English mutation were detected. Five of them are connected to the Nordre Follo nursing home.

– The danger of mutated variants of the virus reaching Norway, we have warned for a long time. The fact that the route of transmission has not been found means that for the first time we have the wild infection spreading in Norway, Oslo city councilor Raymond Johansen said at a news conference on Saturday.
