Out of concern, according to the AP, the FBI has been asked to conduct comprehensive background checks on the 25,000 National Guard members who have been sent to contribute when Biden is sworn in.
McCarthy adds that National Guard members receive training on how to identify potential threats from within their own ranks.

Held outdoors
Despite the riots and episodes of violence in Washington DC following the assault on Congress on January 6, it was announced Sunday that Biden’s inauguration ceremony will be held outdoors.
“Our expectation is that incoming President Biden will put his hand on the Bible, with his family around him, in the open air next to the congress building,” Biden’s camp spokeswoman Kate Bedington told ABC television.
Attacking Trump’s controversial legacy
After the assault on Congress, many fear there will be more episodes of violence in President Donald Trump’s final days in the White House.
However, Bedington said an outdoor ceremony is symbolically important.
Before the ceremony, several important security measures were also implemented in the capital. Among other things, fences and barriers have been installed in the center of the city and around the area where the ceremony will take place.

Both the military and police forces of the United States have discovered that dozens of soldiers and police participated in the assault on Congress, and several of them have been suspended.
