Solskjær applauded Pogba’s goal and table – VG

Now both United and Liverpool have played 17 games this season, and with a win on Tuesday night, United are three points ahead of Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool.

– We are almost halfway through the season, that means we have done something right. But we will see in May. Then there will be a real reality check against the team that has been the best in England for the last year and a half, says Solskjær TV 2 after the game.

Next Sunday, United will face Liverpool at Anfield.

Solskjær was asked if it is a dream to be on top of the table.

– I am a dreamer, I also dreamed of the job I have now, Solskjær replied and smiled well.

Pogba: – Focus

But there was an idea: the misdirected ball turned into a cross towards Marcus Rashford, who was waiting for it in the area. The ball was close to Matthew Lowton on the way to the goal, so Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope looked desperate as the ball slipped between his legs.

Solskjær clenched both fists and raised them above his head, at the same time smiling wisely and well when the ball was in the net.

Solskjær quickly summed up after the match that there have been many problems for Pogba with injuries and the crown.

– He’s fit now. He has qualities and the goal was very, very good, Solskjær tells TV 2.

Much Liverpool

And after 755 days, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær tops the table with his men. Solskjær assumed the position of manager on December 19, 2018, and was permanently appointed on March 28 of the following year.

On Tuesday night it had been a draw for Solskjær to take the top of the table, but with a win they are three points ahead of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League. And on Sunday United will travel to Anfield for a top game. The following weekend, they meet again in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

United topped the table after the first game of the 2018/2019 season, having had Friday’s game in the opening, but did not lead after the first round. The last time Manchester United topped the Premier League beyond the first leg was after 2-2 against Stoke in September 2017. They held the table for six days. Then José Mourinho was the coach and this was the line-up: De Gea, Darmian, Jones, Bailly, Valencia, Pogba, Matic, Herrera, Rashford, Lukaku and Mkhitaryan.

Manchester advanced to the FA Cup and will face Liverpool in the next round:

Anthony Martial had several chances in the game. It also featured Edinson Cavani. Martial could have scored United’s second goal in three minutes of overtime. But Nick Pope did a good game for Burnley and withstood several goals.
