It will verify that you are really quarantined

Health director Bjørn Guldvog believes that several are careless with both infection quarantine and entry quarantine. If you have been in close contact with the infection, you will be quarantined for 10 days. The same applies if you are coming to Norway from a country with a quarantine obligation.

– There are reasons to believe that people have “skipped” this quarantine, or have not applied it in a good enough way, says the health director.

Therefore, the authorities have introduced even stricter rules. Upon arrival, you must be able to present a negative test that is no older than 72 hours, but you must also be tested on arrival within 24 hours. At the same time, you must electronically record how the quarantine is carried out.

Will introduce a new control

Still, no one checks that he complies with the quarantine.

– We are now working with models to achieve better control of the quarantine scheme. This is one of the proposals that we will deliver to the government next week, says Guldvog.

– When will a control system be implemented?

– I can’t be sure. Many will help to put it in place, says Guldvog.

According to the health director, a collaboration is proposed between the municipalities, the police and the health authorities.

-There are many actors to coordinate, but we must try to achieve it in a relatively short time, he continues.

Fatal consequences

The health director says the consequences can be very serious if people continue to neglect karate. Now he wants to come to terms with those who don’t follow the rules.

– It is very serious if this is not done, and it can make us lose control of the pandemic, emphasizes Guldvog.

It refers to Europe, where several countries are fighting the mutated virus.

– It’s even more important than before. These newer variants of the viruses, the South African variant and the southern England variant, may cause the pandemic to spiral out of control, also here in Norway, he says.
