– There has been a landslide while the search was being conducted, not far from where crews had been searching inside the landslide pit in what is known as the red area, says Police Task Chief Roy Alkvist just earlier 12 o’clock on Tuesday.

All fire, police and health teams are safe and have been removed from the area. No one is hurt.

– A new evaluation will be made on re-entry, says Alkvist.

In connection with the new landslide, the alarms that were heard in the center of Ask went off.

– As it seems now, things have gone well with the crews, but as I said before, this is very risky, and now we saw that there is a danger of working there, says Alkvist.

NTB photographer Terje Pedersen was present when the new landslide occurred.

– Everyone ran, shouted and got to safety, he says.

A few minutes before the alarm, a roar was heard echoing toward the east of the valley, according to the photographer. However, this has not been confirmed to have anything to do with the new landslide.

When the police task chief held an information session for the press, several crews returned to the municipality’s cultural house, where the work is coordinated.

The operations manager in the Eastern Police District, Trond Lorentzen, says there are regularly some shelling at the crash site. It was such a bombardment that led to the removal of the crews.

– It wasn’t that dramatic, says Lorentzen.
