– We waited until the end for a miracle to return them to us, writes the family of the late Lisbeth Neraas and her son Marius Brustad (29) in a memoir.

“Yesterday we received the heavy message that our dear Lisbeth and Marius had died in the avalanche of Gjerdrum. We waited until the end for a miracle to return them to us. We would love to give them one more hug!”

This is what the survivors of Lisbeth Neraas and her son Marius Brustad (29) write, both among those who died after the Gjerdrum landslide on December 30.

The word of remembrance was given to the media through the Håkon Stavrum family spokesperson on Monday:

“We will miss our mother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and daughter for all the love, care, and support they always gave us around them. You have been inspired to care for all the people around us from different backgrounds and differences. We are here. incredibly grateful that you were always there, no matter what we needed.

Marius, you were with your contagious smile, a great spreader of joy. You were a role model to your siblings and a son you could only dream of. You were a mainstay in the family and you had friends in all the places you visited. The sheer amount of greetings we’ve received is proof of your network and how much it meant to so many. You were also your grandson, nephew and cousin, always with a big smile on your face and open arms ready for a good hug. You will be missed a lot ”

The last few days have been a roller coaster of emotions for us. At the same time that the uncertainty and longing has been a strain, we have managed to find comfort in all the wonderful memories we have with you. Everything from an eventful vacation together to everyday chores. No one can take away these memories!

We cannot thank you enough for all the support we have received and continue to receive. The monitoring of the crisis team and the police has been very helpful. All the greetings and condolences from acquaintances and strangers motivate us to stick together and be strong.

We also want to send our condolences to the other family members who have lost theirs. It hurts to say that we understand the pain you feel. At the same time, we encourage search teams to continue searching until all missing persons have been found. We know how important a clarification is »
