Storhamar reports that they have the entire team under quarantine for ten days and must postpone their next three matches after two new players at Sparta have tested positive for covid-19. Storhamar faced Sparta on Saturday and won 7-2.

Additionally, Stjernen has received a positive response to a player’s test and is under quarantine. They have also postponed their next three games. The club fears several positive tests.

Grüner – Sparta Tuesday will also be postponed.

– Approaching a critical point

This creates problems for the implementation of the league game, even though the association believes they will be able to complete it.

– We are approaching a critical point, says General Secretary Ottar Eide of the Ice Hockey Association on TV 2.

– What happens if you reach the critical point?

– We have some dates available, but it depends on what we have to cut from series and final games. We maintain an ongoing dialogue with the clubs and must look at future developments. It’s worse if he makes the playoffs. Then we have matches every other day. Then it will be very demanding to have all the parties resolved if there are quarantines, says Eide, who hopes that the new national measures will help the contagion situation in the coming weeks.

The lack of time on the ice slopes above the spring also complicates the picture.

Sparta struck again

Sparta has previously had 17 infected players.

– We have two players who tested positive for Covid-19. They felt sick and put themselves to the test. This means that another seven players, two coaches, and a materials manager are in quarantine. It will be exciting to see what the hockey association does with the game we play tomorrow. The 17 players who have had Covid-19 train normally, says the medical manager in Sparta, Ørjan Kittilsen, to TV 2.

– Have you done a good job in terms of infection control when they hit you again?

– We have done everything possible according to the infection control protocol. As few people in the locker room as possible, fewer people turn into battle, and so on. You can get the infection at the store or elsewhere. Two players are still looking for the first wave of infection. One of them is still ill. We follow him closely.

A player from Stjernen also tested positive in a rapid test, the club reports. Team A and the support apparatus are in quarantine.

– There is uncertainty with the rapid test and the club expects the final result of the test in a short time. Other players have symptoms, but test results are not yet available, writes Stjernen in a press release.
