From night to Monday it was cold in many places in southern Norway. It will continue to be so in the future.
– It will be a cold week, says meteorologist on duty Eldbjørg Moxnes to Dagbladet.
She says it can get very cold in some areas of the southern mountains.
– We are in a rather cold period in much of southern Norway, so there will probably be a few more nights with temperatures as low as 30 degrees below zero in the “cold holes” in the mountains, and towards 10 degrees below zero in the south and low areas. Moxnes says.

– It seems to be very quiet in mainland Norway. It will be mostly cold and a little cloudy, but occasionally a lot of clear weather and also sunshine, the few hours the sun is out, he says.
She says that in many ways it is the opposite of what it usually is, as it is relatively mild in northern Norway.
– But further north it will be smoother, says Moxnes.

The meteorologist says that on Monday it is raining in much of the coastal areas of northern Norway.
– It’s colder during the week, she says.
– There has been little snow so far, but there may be some replacement of snow towards the weekend, in relation to the low pressures on Svalbard, explains Moxnes.
The weather in Svalbard is very bad on Monday. A full storm is expected at the southern tip of Svalbard, while Longyearbyen escapes with a stiff to strong gale.
