– The latest development of the rescue operation is that we discovered a person in the area of the landslide, says task leader Bjørn Christian Willersrud in a press briefing on Sunday evening.
The person was found at 5:27 p.m. and has been confirmed dead.

Earlier Sunday, Willersrud said more searches are planned during the afternoon and evening. Police still call work a rescue operation and search with dogs on the ground in the landslide area.

Around 1,000 people have been evacuated in the municipality as a result of the landslide. At around 3.30pm on Sunday, the rescue leadership decided to cancel the evacuation in Kogstad in Gjerdrum.
The residents in question must be informed by the municipality of Gjerdrum.
More than 110,000 Norwegians live in the so-called “fast clay zones”. It is not dangerous in itself, if the camp is allowed to rest.

Lt. Petter Thorud of the Armed Forces Engineer Battalion tells NRK that the armored paver with hinged hydraulic bridge slabs, can make a 26 meter safe bridge in the search area for both the crew and the vehicles. .
