The municipality of Molde has been notified today of three new cases of infection. All three are active handball players at Molde HK Elite. This is confirmed by a press release from the municipality.
The entire team, including coaches and support staff, have been quarantined. This also applies to other close contacts.
– In total, we have quarantined about 50 people as a result of the three cases of infection, says Deputy Municipal Director Britt Rakvåg Roald in Molde Municipality.
Everyone who enters karate will be evaluated on Monday. The source of the infection is unknown so far, but detection of the infection is still ongoing.
Molde was initially going to play his next match on January 7 against Fredrikstad. After ten games played, Molde is in fourth place in the series. The entire team is in quarantine until January 10. This means that the match against Larvik must also be postponed.
– We don’t train. It’s hard. One thing with illness, but not training is hard enough, says Carl Henrik Indbjør on Molde HK to TV 2.
– Korona’s situation in society is nothing new, so the group of players is not in shock. One can be unlucky. The cause has not yet been found and it is not always found.
Now the club is crossing its fingers so that no more cases appear.
– We have been under a strict regime for a long time and have been in Europe and played without contagion before. We can only hope there are no more cases. Under the circumstances, the infected are doing well, says Indbjør.
