Bent Høie writes that the decision to make all teaching digital was made after receiving advice from the Norwegian Directorate of Health and the National Institute of Public Health.
– The goal of changing the physical setting is to reduce the pressure of infection. The infection is spreading to various parts of the country, and it was before the Christmas holidays that many young people took the infection home for Christmas. Rogaland and Trøndelag in particular are experiencing a major infection right now.

– We are approaching a whole year with a lot of time alone in the student residence, periods of quarantine and little social contact. I know this is difficult for many, and my clear message to all principals is that they should keep track of their students and create alternative professional meeting places. We all need to take care of each other, Asheim says in the press release.
Former employees told the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) today that infection rates may now return to the same level as when they peaked this fall. The infection rate R is now 1.3, which means that 100 infected people will transmit the infection to 130 people.
FHI writes in a press release tonight that 11 cases of the new variant of the virus that were first discovered in the UK have so far been tested.
This variant is more contagious. There are four cases in Rogaland, four in Oslo and three cases in Viken. Three of the people are in the UK and another eight are his close contacts.
