– We have just received a lot of positive test results that we want to communicate. First we want to say: we will never give up, we will turn this around now with a continuous operational and active attitude to the situation, the municipality writes in the press release.
Lots of unknown infection
At 4:45 pm on Saturday, the municipality received 42 positive corona samples in Stjørdal, which is a new record for infection. The last peak of infection was on New Year’s Eve when 21 new infections were detected.
– This brings us significant new challenges in addition to a previously demanding situation. About half of them are names hitherto unknown to us, which means that a lot of infection tracking has to start over. The other half are already in quarantine, the municipality writes in the press release.

– Significant infection pressure
– This shows that now, after Christmas, we have significant infection pressure in Stjørdal. Unfortunately, the measures must be reinforced, we are working on preparing measures now beyond the evening that will be presented at tomorrow’s press conference, the municipality writes.
Stjørdal Municipality offers a new press conference on the coronation situation on Sunday at 1 pm, with Mayor Ivar Vigdenes, Municipal Director Tor Jakob Reitan and Municipal Chief Medical Officer Leif Edvard Muruvik Vonen.
