On Christmas Eve, reports came in that Thomas Tuchel had ended up at the Paris Saint-Germain. Confirmation did not come until Tuesday of this week.
Tuchel led the club to two league titles, a cup title and the club’s first Champions League final.
Now Paris Saint-Germain finally confirms on its website that it is former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino who will take over from the German.
Pochettino has been unemployed since the Spurs fired him in November of last year. The Argentine has a past playing for PSG from 2001 to 2003 and has played 70 games for the club.
Variety of offers
According to La Liga de TV 2 expert Guillem Balagué, PSG is not the only offer Pochettino has received in the last year.
– He has been waiting for an opportunity with a team that is one or two steps above what he had, says Balagué.
– He has found that at PSG. He was invited to discuss the future with Barcelona, Madrid, Monaco, Benfica and many others.
