Eight people are still missing following the landslide that took place in Gjerdrum on Wednesday. The first deceased was found and transported out of the landslide area yesterday.
Police were notified of the landslide at 03.59 on Wednesday night, December 30. Since then, there has been an extensive rescue operation in the Ask landslide area in Gjerdrum municipality.
A large number of rescue teams have participated in the search for people, but the situation in the area is challenging. Entering the landslide zone is still a great danger, where ground conditions are still considered unstable.
The rescue team has used, among other things, helicopters, camera drones seeking heat and dog teams in the search for survivors. Plastic mats were also used to penetrate the area.
