– There is no increased risk of rapid clay landslides elsewhere due to this landslide, says regional manager Toril Hofshagen at NVE.
In the wake of the rapid clay landslide in Gjerdrum, there have been multiple articles about all the warnings against construction in the area. As early as 2005, warnings were issued against construction in the area. Additional warnings were received in the years leading up to construction that began in 2008.
On New Year’s Eve, the police and NVE were able to report that cracks had formed in the Kokstad farm, just over two kilometers north of central Ask, where the original landslide took place. 46 people were evacuated from the area.

In this sense, NVE and the Police have informed people who make reports of concern if they see cracks.
This has led people to send so many messages of concern that NVE would issue a warning.

NVE has received several reports of concern after the Gjerdrum landslide on Wednesday night, which is not unnatural, Hofshagen said.
– If you notice things that concern you, as before, you should report it to your municipality as the nearest emergency manager, so they can check if there is a cause for concern and if there is a need to connect emergency services and NVE’s professional experience. she said.
