(Romerikes Blad / Nettavisen) Marius Brustad (29) was at home with his mother Lisbeth Neraas (54) on a Christmas visit when the Gjerdrum landslide occurred. They have both been missed ever since.
The families of the disappeared have made a joint statement:
“It is an indescribably difficult and painful situation for family and friends that we are living now in relation to the landslide in Gjerdrum. Son and brother who together with their mother have unrealistically become victims of an event unthinkable for all. We miss to a very beloved, loving and caring mother, sister and daughter, as well as an energetic, caring and much loved brother. We are very close and well cared for by close friends. A big thank you to all who have sent messages of support and warm thoughts with great empathy.

Being exposed to this in your own home within a construction site shouldn’t be possible. We hope and pray for a miracle or two to happen, even if we are also realistic. At the same time, we want to thank the search teams, crisis teams, police / emergency services and the rest of the emergency services for their efforts, and we hope that they will continue until the missing are found. At the same time, we want to send warm thoughts to other family members, “the statement said.”
The family asks for peace
In recent days, search teams have worked around the clock to find the ten people who have disappeared after the catastrophic landslide. On Friday afternoon it was learned that a person was found dead in the avalanche area.

We know this about the landslide at Gjerdrum
- The Eastern Police District received notification of the landslide shortly before 3:59 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30.
- Ten people have been reported injured, with varying degrees of damage. One of the cases is characterized by being serious
- Ten people are still missing after the landslide on Thursday morning.
- The search lasted until Thursday night using a drone and a helicopter. Listening and observing posts have also been posted. Sea King dog, dog sitter and rescuer have been inside the slip area
- Police said Thursday that approximately 1,000 people were affected by the evacuation.
- Among the ten missing there are women, men and also children
- A search began on the building in the landslide zone Thursday afternoon. USAR teams from the fire department and a team of police dogs were shot down by helicopters.
