Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven sharpened the crown’s measures before Christmas. Up to eight people can meet and are asked to avoid unnecessary travel. It has also been urged to avoid congestion in shopping centers.

Before Christmas, Löfven said that people should not go on sale on Christmas Eve, and the Public Health Authority asked people to avoid shopping malls.

But not everyone follows the advice of the authorities. Not even those who have submitted them.

Therefore, these revelations provoke strong reactions:

There are several Swedish media that cover the excursions of social leaders. Among them Sveriges Radio, Expressen and Aftonbladet.

Commercialized appliances

Löfvens is said to have bought a watch, razor gear, a gift for his wife, and food at a Stockholm shopping center just before Christmas. Additionally, he is said to have visited Systembolaget, according to Expressen.

Justice Minister Johansson is said to have bought a small appliance. Write Aftonbladet.

– Bought credibility

Now the politicians are receiving criticism. Johanna Kronkvist (27) is a nurse at Östra Hospital in Gothenburg. She calls the actions of politicians toward Aftonbladet hypocrisy.

Nurse Johan Sand also reacts.

– Should they get the food or medicine they need to survive? If they had been observed in a pharmacy, they would not have reacted. But that’s not what has happened, he tells Aftonbladet.

The Expressen newspaper is relentless in its leadership position. They believe that Löfven has lost his credibility.

“Stefan Löfven undermines the government’s pandemic strategy with his Christmas shopping,” the newspaper writes.

Political commentator Viktor Barth-Kron on Expressen is also critical.

“Who should take the prime minister seriously, when now he wants to shut down much of society, for example, the watch shops in the city center,” he writes.

Take self-criticism

Prime Minister Löfven has not commented on his shopping trips. But his press secretary, Mikael Lindström, writes in an SMS to Aftonbladet:

– All errands were organized in a way that avoided close contact.

Finance Minister Andersson visited a ski resort in Sälen. An outbreak of infection was subsequently detected there. He declined to comment on the case to Aftonbladet.

Justice Minister Johansson has criticized himself for his shopping trip.

– I should have planned it better, write. Twitter.

Emergency Management Director Dan Eliasson has not commented on Aftonbladet’s trip south. MSB notes that they never comment on where their boss is. They avoid it for their safety.
