On Wednesday at 6.30 pm, 12 people remained unaccounted for after the landslide accident in Gjerdrum. Police fear that the missing are in the area of the landslide.
– It is women and men who belong to the houses that have been taken, that have not been counted. There are also children among the fifteen, says task leader Roger Pettersen.
King Harald says the landslide has made a deep impression on him and the royal family.
– My thoughts are with all those affected, injured, who have lost their home and who now live in fear and uncertainty about the magnitude of the disaster. In a situation that is still unclear, I send my deepest hope and condolences to all those affected by the disaster, King Harald said in a statement.
The king also thanks those who participate in the demanding work on site.
– I would also like to thank all the emergency services, the municipalities of the immediate area and the volunteers for their great effort under very demanding conditions, says the King.

Prime Minister Erna Solberg and Minister of Justice and Emergency Management Monica Mæland visited Gjerdrum after the serious landslide on Wednesday.
On the way to a meeting with crisis management in the municipality, Solberg said he sends his thoughts to all those affected by the incident.
– My thoughts are with everyone who is directly affected. There are many that have not yet been accounted for, this is a great disaster, he said.
– It hurts me a lot to see such a landslide. It is also difficult when not so many have been counted and I understand that it is a great burden for those who work there, he continued.
Following the meeting with crisis management, the Prime Minister met again with the press.
– It is a dramatic experience to be here and to see images of the entire landslide, and of course to know that there are several that have not yet been accounted for, he said then.
